Takeya’s attempt to look like a Japanese drinking alley is at once remarkably cheesy, charmingly sincere, and surprisingly comforting. The food is fantastic, and also very comforting. For a big meal, dig into the ramen, with a couple (very not japanese but very delicious) baos to start. If you’re not too hungry and a bit budget-concious, just get one of the bowls; they look small, but fill you up, especially when washed down with an ice cold Asahi Super Dry from a real deal Japanese super-cold beer dispenser.
