Pavillon D, 23 Avenue Junot, 75018 Paris, France
Few places have capture the imagination like this strange, maybe magical place. Five rooms in the former Hermes family estate. Prohibitively expensive, unless you get a cut rate deal on Hotel Tonight on a Sunday like we did. The rooms border on tacky, the place oozed maybe a bit too much Wes Anderson charm. But then you peek out the window at patonk court next door in the dapple Monmarte light. The trays sway over the garden bar, and you can just see the lights of the city down the narrow alley. It's quiet at night, and the bar/lounge rewards a solo nightcap.
